Wytschaete is a concentration cemetery. The cross is the 16th Irish Division memorial The Division took Wytschaete (now Wijtschate) on 7th June 1917 During the Battle of Messines |
There are 1,002 men buried or commemorated here, of which 673 are unidentified. There are 16 Special memorials. Other Special memorials commemorate men known to be buried in other cemeteries but whose graves could not be found.

Known to the troops as Whitesheet Some of the smaller Battlefield Casualties graves were also concentrated here. Note once again the immaculate lawned area and shrubs.
