Hedd Wyn (Welsh Poet) died near here on 31 July 1917
A plaque to him is nearby
Capt J E Knowles is buried here.
He was killed near Mons on 23 August 1914, making him one of the wars first casualties.
He was re-interred at Cement House after the war.
